Fall 2026 Enrichment Registration is Now Open!

Children in the 3-year old and 4-year old classes are invited to sign up for enrichment offerings. These classes meet from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. each day.

Dates: September 28 – December 11, 2026**

** Please note: Enrichment classes will not be held the week before Winter break.

Cost: Pricing and number of sessions per class are listed on the form below.

Application Deadline: Thursday, July 30 at 9:00 a.m.

Enrichment placement notifications will be sent via brightwheel by Thursday, August 6.

*** Enrollment does not guarantee placement. Enrollment is limited to 16 children per class. Any class with more than 16 registrants will go to lottery for placement. ***

Please note: To participate in our Enrichment programs, children must be able to independently use the bathroom. Due to teacher ratios, they are not able to individually remind, assist or manage your child’s bathroom use. They will encourage the children, as a group, to go at the beginning of the session and after lunch. If your child has an accident or soils their diaper/pull-up, we will call you to come and change them. Thanks for your cooperation!

Enrichment Offerings

MONDAY: ABC with Me!

In ABC with Me, children will practice emergent literacy skills such as enjoying books (most important!), letter identification, letter sound knowledge, print awareness, vocabulary, and number sense. Before learning how to read words or numbers, children must learn how sounds and words are made. We will begin each session with a read aloud and coordinating hands-on activities, games, sensory experiences, story retellings, science, and art projects to practice literacy skills. We will also utilize elements from Handwriting without Tears, to practice fine motor skills, and build hand and finger muscles.

Cost: $280 (10 sessions)

ABC with Me!

TUESDAY: Creative Dramatics

Whitney Minarik, from the Oil Lamp Theater, will be teaching creative drama enrichment! Creative drama helps build important skills by exploring theatre and what it means to be an actor. Games and activities focus on listening, creativity, teamwork, confidence, and pre-literacy skills, all while having lots of fun and being silly. Participants will practice using their bodies, voices, and imaginations to tell a story created and dramatized as a group. This brand new play will be shared on the final day of the session. Whitney Minarik is the Education Director for Oil Lamp Theater and an actor, director, and teaching artist. For the last fifteen years, she has taught and directed young people ages 3 to 18 all over Chicagoland and beyond. Originally from Detroit, Whitney holds a B.F.A. from Wayne State University and an M.A. in Theatre Education from Catholic University.

Creative Dramatics

WEDNESDAY: Little Hands, Big Minds

In Little Hands, Big Minds, children will exercise their fine motor and gross motor skills. Exercising fine motor skills, fingers and hands, will strengthen their small muscles needed for hand eye coordination and future writing skills. Utilizing gross motor skills, large body movements, will help with coordination, balance, following directions, and self regulation. We will begin each session with a read aloud and coordinating hands-on activities, games, sensory experiences, science and art projects to exercise their little hands and big minds!

Little Hands, Big Minds

THURSDAY: Little Scientists

Ignite your child's natural curiosity about the world! This hands-on program encourages preschoolers to observe, question, and explore through engaging, age-appropriate experiments. Children will investigate topics in life, physical, and earth sciences using fun, everyday materials (e.g., sink or float, mixing colors, magnets, and planting seeds), building critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a playful environment.

Cost: $280 (10 sessions)

Little Scientists

FRIDAY: Nature Explorers

Celebrate the great outdoors as a Nature Explorer! We will learn about trees, rocks, the sun, weather and more with hands-on exploration all over our beautiful campus. Children will also help harvest our bountiful vegetable garden. We will be spending time outside as much as possible, so children will need to dress for the weather and maybe even some muddy fun. This enrichment works best for children who can independently dress in outdoor gear and enjoy being outside in ALL kinds of weather (or those who are willing to become "outdoorsy"!) We have rain boots!

Cost: $252 (9 sessions)
